Happy Full Moon!

Happy Full Moon!

Greetings!

Today we have the full moon, with the sun in the cardinal water sign of Cancer and the moon in the opposite sign, that of the cardinal earth sign Capricorn. This is a full moon during which the power truly lies in the details. The overt, obvious theme is that of tension present between the family and home life, vs. the career and occupation. Or, from a psychological perspective, the inner tension and struggle between the inner feminine and masculine. So, the moral of the story is to find that harmony within yourself. As you probably suspect, though, there is much more to it than that.

The moon in Capricorn is forming a sextile to the North Node of the Moon retrograde in Pisces, which informs us that the more you take charge of where you want to be in the future, the more you align with your overall goals in life. That North Node of the Moon is also forming a sextile to the sun in Cancer, meaning that your intuition and psychic abilities can help guide you. Water corresponds to the emotions, and when you apply your emotions to your overall life goals, you can achieve more success than someone who just goes through the motions without any emotional engagement.

Mars in Virgo is trining the moon in Capricorn, telling us that not only is this a time of strategizing and planning, but this is also a time of hard work. Life doesn’t happen without our participation, but just because you need to work to achieve your goals doesn’t mean you have to work just for the sake of staying busy. Work has its purpose, and now is the time to roll up your sleeves and get to work, whether it is hard work like packing and organizing, or perhaps working extra hours to get the money you need to fund your goals. Whatever the case may be, this trine shows us that we can do all the psychological work we want, but that is only half the equation. The other part of it is putting in the long hours and work necessary to further our growth.

The moon is squaring Chiron, though, so to work with these themes, one must face inner wounds that have to do with how the self is viewed. Some of these wounds may also have to do with your sense of being in general. What’s most important about this is that, along with the sun and moon opposition, this is the only other challenging aspect during this full moon. The rest of the aspects present are supportive and positive. Even Uranus in Gemini is sextiling the Saturn and Neptune conjunction in Aries, meaning the more you embrace walking your path your way, the more you are expanding into a higher, larger level of consciousness.

When you put all of this together, you see the bigger picture, which is that now is the time to take initiative when it comes to planning your future and finding the courage within to stand up for what you want in the face of adversity and people who want to see you inhibited. To accomplish this may take some inner healing and development. But, as Aleister Crowley has said: “I do not want to father a flock, to be the fetish of fools and fanatics, or the founder of a faith whose followers are content to echo my opinions. I want each man to cut his own way through the jungle.” (A couple of clarifiers: when he says ‘man,’ he means people in general. In other words, he is not aiming this at just men, ffs. And the jungle he’s referring to is the spiritual jungle.)

So, what do you want out of life? What inner changes are you prepared to make to achieve it? Mercury retrograde is right around the corner, so now is the time to plan and troubleshoot your plan during the retrograde. Once Mercury directs, you can put things into motion. And remember, if you choose not to undergo this process, that too is a choice, and with it may come missed opportunities, some that you can never recover.

Namaste,
