Happy Full Moon!

Happy Full Moon!

Greetings!

Today, we have the full moon, with the moon in the fixed earth sign of Taurus, and the sun in the opposite sign, the fixed water sign of Scorpio. As you probably saw in my monthly astrological preview video on YouTube, this full moon kicks off a month of spiritual, creative, and emotional initiation. Between now and the upcoming new moon, Mercury stations retrograde, where it will be until the end of the month, and Jupiter stations and retrogrades until March of next year. Also of note is that Uranus retrogrades back into Taurus, and keep in mind that all of this happens within the next two weeks. Wow!

So, as you can tell, we are kicking off a roller-coaster of a time. When planets retrograde, the energy in the air is not like it normally is. In many ways, our attention is drawn to our inner lives and the things that are happening privately. The Mercury retrograde will draw our attention to resolving things related to paperwork, communication, mechanical issues, electrical appliances, and commerce.

The Jupiter retrograde will not be as intense, will last longer, and will not be as impactful as the Mercury retrograde, so we don’t have to worry about that as much. Uranus retrograding into Taurus will cause a little bit of a stir, especially when it comes to the Internet and mass communication. This is only a two- or three-day window, though, so it may even be a non-event.

So, what does all of this mean? Essentially, this means that the entire month may be filled with opportunities to reflect and go within. The cynic in me says this is common sense: as the calendar year winds down and we prepare for the new year, we also evaluate what has come to pass. What separates this moment from others is that now it is heightened and narrowed in focus. A large emphasis will be on the family, close friends, and, interestingly enough, tradition. Both Taurus and Cancer, the sign Jupiter is retrograding in, are known as more traditional signs. Both of those signs like their creature comforts and routines, whereas Sagittarius, the sign Mercury is retrograding in, likes to explore and expand its consciousness. It should be clear how these two energies could conflict.

On a personal level, you may find that November is filled with numerous possibilities that involve harmonizing tradition with exploration of the new and visionary. But, traditional astrology says that Mercury is not in a strong place when located in Sagittarius, so this particular retrograde may be rough on people with strong mutable energy in this chart.

Bookending the month are grand trine aspect patterns in water signs, and this symmetry suggests that emotions are strong now and will be strong again at the end of the month, leaving the in-between period as an adventure of self-discovery and reflection. The trick is whether this comes from your motivation for self-reflection and discovery, or if external events happen that cause you to self-reflect and discover new, inner worlds. I am a personal fan of being the instigator, rather than the reactor, but that’s just me. Sometimes the role one plays is not necessarily under one’s control, so there is that to consider.

If you thought things were going to calm down, astrologically speaking, then you may be surprised, because in a lot of ways, things are just kicking off. During the month, compassion and enlightenment are two major themes to embrace. This compassion can be both for yourself and your fellow human(s). By applying it carefully, you may find healing, forward momentum, and wisdom. Sagittarius is a sign of spirituality in the zodiac, and thus, the potential is greater than normal to apply our understanding to where we are going in an overall sense in life, and for the betterment of our souls. Where and when should we follow tradition? When shouldn’t we? How do we use our technological tools to accomplish our goals, while at the same time connecting with others of like mind for encouragement, support, and connection? These and related questions may be the most prevalent throughout the whole month.

November 2025 will be marked by an overall increase in water energy, meaning that emotions, creativity, and the spiritual quest will all be highlighted and in full force. While this is generally a good thing, as emotions provide us with fuel, it may also be too much of a good thing, particularly for people who are naturally more sensitive to energy than others. To help navigate this, you may find it wise to listen to your intuition, as it will be stronger than usual.

I realize a lot of this may read very dryly, but that is because I am writing this way to cram a lot of information into a short format. Make no mistake, this will not be a dry or boring month. The best way I know to navigate it is through emotional detachment, embracing self-reflection, and being proactive when it comes to addressing issues as they arise. I hope this helps, but of course, evaluate your actions and responses with what’s best for your particular situation. After all, we’re all on this third planet from the sun, together.

Namaste,
