Happy Full Moon!

Happy Full Moon!

Greetings!
Today we have the full moon, with the sun in Aries and the moon in Libra. Recently, we had the March equinox and the end of Mercury retrograde, and all the significant planets in astrology are direct, so to say this full moon packs a punch would be an understatement.

Currently, there are four planets in Aries, and within a few weeks, there will be seven! There is no better time to begin something new. What that is, though, is as about as subjective as you can get, so I can’t narrow it down from there.

We live in a polarity-based reality, though, and because of this, not everything is roses. Besides beginning new projects, especially those involving “fighting the good fight,” so to speak. But, in order to fight the good fight, one must first heal themselves. Chiron is nearing the end of Aries, but with all of this Aries activity coming up, we will find the spotlight directly thrust on psychological wounds that have to do with the ego. To clarify, this is the psychological ego, not the lower, toxic ego that gets so much attention. This is the ego that is self-confidence, self-esteem, self-trust, and all things related. While Chiron has been going through Aries, the dominant theme has been discovering these wounds and healing them in the process, with your best ally being the twins of humility and objectivity. As we move deeper into the solar Aries transit, many of the current planets will blend with Chiron, which will highlight both the wounds and the healing process, and where we stand when it comes to them. A deep dive on this is outside of the scope of this piece, though, so for now simply know that the next month will highlight and intensify Chiron’s journey.

Opposing all of this dominant Aries activity is the moon in the cardinal air sign Libra, and when we take a closer look at that, we see that it is one of only two placements in air signs, with the other one being Pluto in Aquarius. Fire is the dominant element, with a touch of all of the others, and I point this out because many times people like to look at a full moon chart and try to find some sort of balance, but in this case, there really isn’t any. Venus is in her sign of Taurus though, and she is the ruler of Libra, so there is a strong, subtle Venus energy present, which is taking the edge off everything in general, giving us a softer experience, if we work with the finer arts of emotions, the intuition, and compassion.

This leads us to the final part of the full moon to address: the fact that there are four chart points in water signs: one Jupiter in the cardinal sign Cancer, and the North Node of the Moon, Mercury, and Mars, are all in the mutable sign Pisces. Thus, we see that the second strongest element right now is water. So, fire and water. Will and heart. Action guided by intuition. Steam.

Yep, you got it. Other than what Chiron brings to the surface, the biggest challenge in the air right now is that of getting too self-absorbed to see the bigger picture. After all, emotions and willpower are two concepts that originate internally, so it is easy to get wrapped up in their solitary natures. But this also means it can be easy to whip yourself into a frenzy, without any real, external barometer, and in so doing, get nothing accomplished. Temper hits emotions, and bam: steam. Some signs are more susceptible to this, of course, but on a large scale, this is something I see a lot on the Internet: people whipping themselves into frenzies, with no external focus, for good or ill.

While the next few weeks are great for starting things, they are also a time to make the final push toward internal healing, as described above. By May first, the energy in the air will be wildly different, and it is always wiser to be proactive rather than reactive. Just practice some inner dialogue discipline and discernment, and you may find you are better than you thought you were.

Namaste,
