Happy Full Moon!

Happy Full Moon!

Greetings!
Tonight we have the full moon, with the moon in Aries and the sun in Libra. It is also the first supermoon of the year. Additionally, Mercury moves into Scorpio at this time, too, meaning yesterday, today, and probably tomorrow, may feel like a mini-retrograde, but once those energies settle, the tone in the air may be that of intensity, or concepts related to “the hidden,” or the hidden coming to light. If you extrapolate this out, you arrive at an interesting point that I am not seeing discussed anywhere, is the fact that there is a minor aspect that could wreak havoc for the next two weeks, and that is the quincunx.

A quincunx is a minor aspect present when two significant chart points are one-hundred and fifty degrees apart, or, to condense, five signs away from each other. During this full moon, this is present between the sun in Libra and the North Node of the Moon retrograde in Pisces. A quincunx tells us that there may be challenges present when it comes to harmonizing the energies of the chart points involved, but if this integration is done successfully, the results may be much bigger than anticipated. In that way, it’s like a hidden power point, but only if you go above and beyond in your efforts.

Specifically, the current situation tells us that if you embrace and develop the Libra traits present, you can unlock and achieve a massive amount of spiritual growth and power. Libra corresponds to diplomacy, balance, synthesis, harmony, moderation, mediation, justice, and being surrounded by beautiful things. Pisces corresponds to psychic abilities, creativity, spirituality, being a visionary, innovation, and sensitivity to energy.

There are multiple ways to interpret this, so let’s get started. I’ll share a couple here, but I encourage you to interpret things as you will, also. The first interpretation I want to point out is that this relationship tells us now is a good time to practice emotional intelligence, also known as heart intelligence. This is the skill of seeing your emotions clearly, and being in firm control of how they impact your thinking and your life. So, during this time, we see it is wise to process your emotions from a clear minded perspective, and when you do, to look at them in a fair light.

The second way to look at this is that this is a call to action for spiritual behavior. There are a couple of adages that come to mind to express this point. First, “When the going get’s tough, the tough get going,” but also “The only way out is through.” There are a lot of challenges in the world currently, which means this is a good time for faith (See my recent YouTube video for more about that), as well as spiritual centering. Getting back into your daily spiritual habits could be good for the soul, as could starting new regular habits to help keep your emotions controlled and your spiritual side fed.

A third way to interpret this is to recognize the opportunity that is present to bring your creativity down into a plan to follow going forward. Now is a good time for spiritual and creative plans to get developed. How are you going to achieve those goals? What steps will it take to get there? How much time should be allotted to the various components of the process? What is plan “B?” Who do you need to talk to, to get your creative project exposure? These and related questions can help you make a plan for where you want to be in about six months, which is when the opposite full moon combination will happen.

Like I said, I could continue to interpret this, but I feel these are enough examples for now, to get you thinking about this event in ways that are in line with your life and paradigm. Now we’ll address the point that will affect all of these interpretations, which is the moon; you know, the second largest piece of the puzzle in addition to the Libra sun we just discussed!

I saved the moon for last because I wanted to emphasize the hidden quincunx present, but the strength of the Aries moon should not be underestimated. It is not quincunx with the North Node of the Moon as the Libra sun is, but it does form a minor aspect called a sem-sextile. This aspect is when two points are one sign apart, and we do meet these criteria in this case. Like the quincunx, this aspect is calling for adjustments, but unlike the quincunx, the adjustments necessary here are minor in comparison. Succinctly, if you make a lot of small adjustments between the traits of the moon and the traits of the North Node of the Moon, you may find the results roll along nicely and smoothly, and in beneficial ways.

We’ve already discussed the traits of the North Node of the Moon, so let’s take a moment to discuss how a moon in Aries manifests. The moon correlates to our emotions and how we handle daily life. The Aries influence suggests that emotions may be more intense than usual, seeking immediate gratification and resolution, rather than deferred gratification and manifestation. However, an Aries moon is also one of valor and living up to one’s honor code. The moon in Aries provides the fire needed to unlock the quincunx and semisextile that are present. Really, you could say that the moon in Aries is the fire that sets everything off at this time. On one hand, this is beneficial, but on the other, it is not, because it could lead to excessive impulsiveness and temper, and insufficient logic and patience.

Finally, as an extension of this point, we find there are three planets in Aries. There is the moon, Chiron retrograde, and Neptune retrograde, and just as importantly, there are two planets in Scorpio: Mercury and Mars. Why does Scorpio matter in a discussion about a fire? Easy: One of the ruling planets of Scorpio is Mars, a fire planet that also rules Aries. So, to summarize, there are five planets in signs that are ruled (or co-ruled) by Mars. That’s a lot of fire! Really, that’s arguably enough to extinguish the water, but that is debatable. It’s worth keeping in mind when dealing with people. They might go from one extreme to the other: either extremely fiery or extremely watery, and you might be hard-pressed to find someone who is a healthy mix of both.

And yet, that is the message here: Be a healthy mix of both. Recognize and harness your emotions, using them for fuel, dedication, and hard work, but in no way should you be consumed by them. Be aggressive in your pursuits, but don’t let your compassion, love, or tenderness atrophy. Finding a harmonious way to proceed with others may be exactly what the doctor ordered, but as always, stay alert while doing so.

This is enough for now, and I encourage you to ponder on this. Until we chat again, may we all receive blessings of good health, success, and prosperity as we inch towards the upcoming Mercury retrograde.

Namaste
