Happy Full Moon!

Happy Full Moon!

Greetings!

Today we have the full moon, with the sun in the mutable fire sign Sagittarius, and the moon in the mutable air sign Gemini. Like most times, there is more than just this tense opposition happening, and it is a complex picture. Factoring into the tense opposition of the sun and the moon, we find the north node of the moon in Pisces, squaring both. Squares are challenges and issues, and when you have a square with an opposition, you have a challenging aspect pattern called a T-Square, and when this is present, it tells us this is a challenging time with choppy energy, so smoothness is not something that is common at the moment. A lot of the challenges and tension present have to do with challenges present to one’s spiritual growth. Tension may be present between focus and distraction, honesty vs. half-truths, or spiritual attainment vs. carnal fulfilment, or any of these combinations or variants.

This is not the only aspect pattern present, as there is also a water grand trine in the sky. This is happening between Saturn in the water sign Pisces, Jupiter in Cancer, and Mercury in Scorpio. The first thing this tells us is that this is a time of powerful emotions and a heightened intuition. This aspect pattern is also one of initiation in many ways; ranging from emotional to spiritual, and even psychic. One one hand this is good, because it tells us your intuition and psychic skills may be sharper than normal, but on the other hand, this can be a challenging time, because emotions may become overwhelming, and they may be too much of a good thing. When you factor in the mutable T-Square, you see that this aspect pattern may cause more harm than good if it catches you off guard. A third aspect pattern present is a stellium, and it is occurring in the signs Sagittarius and Pisces. Stelliums are generally good, because they denote the strength of the sign, but they can also be challenging in the sense that so much concentration and energy is wrapped up in them, that it can’t flow freely through the rest of the chart. What makes this complex is that in the natural zodiac, Sagittarius and Pisces square each other, so the concentration for each is full of friction overall.

On the bright side, Neptune and Saturn, conjunct in Pisces, are sextiling, or interacting smoothly with, Uranus retrograde in Taurus. This helps all of us because it tells us that it may be easy to ground discordant emotions so that they don’t consume you. It is always a good reminder that when you have strong emotions, you can channel them into productive projects and accomplish a lot in the physical world. And, that same Uranus retrograde in Taurus is sextiling the aforementioned Jupiter retrograde in Cancer, meaning that support can be found in your home and with your immediate family.

Chiron retrograde in Aries is squaring Jupiter retrograde in Cancer, so while the support may be there from the immediate family and in the home, it may come with a price of confronting old wounds and finally bringing healing to them-provided distractions and superficiality are ignored. Speaking of fire, Mars in Sagittarius is squaring Saturn in Pisces, meaning that impulsiveness and a desire to run away may work against you from an emotional and spiritual perspective.

I realize that a lot of this is astrological tekkie talk, and I realize you may come back to it later to pick it apart, but the details are important because they are telling us that yes, there is an intense and immense mount of challenges in the airm right now, there are also things you can do to continue to thrive. First, ground your emotions and channel the energy into something positive. Second, face up to what needs faced. The only cowardice is running from healing opportunities. This doesn’t mean face every bad thing that has occurred, but rather, read the situation to the degree that if you see an opportunity for healing, take it!

During tonight specifically, you may find it is a good time to figure out various ways to cut out the mental clutter and distractions, and get back to your center and focus. Or, if you want the distractions, then accept the fact that you will pay a price for them, and whatever that price is, will hit you in the feels, as the cool kids say.

I hope all of you have been enjoying the Gaia episodes! There’s more to come. And, from my home to yours, happy holidays!

Namaste,
