Greetings!
Today is the full moon, with the sun in the cardinal earth sign Capricorn, and the moon is in the cardinal water sign of Cancer in the tropical zodiac. Even though the first day of the calendar year was a few days ago, this full moon truly kicks off the year. Currently, the moon is conjunct Jupiter retrograde in Cancer, which is opposing the sun, Mars, and Venus conjunction in the opposite sign, Capricorn. Mercury is also in Capricorn, weighing the opposition in the direction of Capricorn.
Both ends of this opposition are squaring Chiron in Aries, which is currently stationing direct, further complicating the picture. The energy in the air at the moment is tension between creature comforts and the home (Cancer), and your career, occupation, and overall direction in life (Capricorn). This tension is made obvious by wounds and your recent healing journey related to your mind and sense of self (Chiron in Aries).
Overall, this is an aspect pattern called a cardinal sign T-Square, and one of the better ways to work with it is to invite the spiritual into your life more than you normally do. Working with invisible energies and beings may guide how to proceed.
In my sun sign horoscopes, I break down this month so that you can find more information there. Here, I would like to focus on the fact that this full moon kicks off an astrological festival, so to speak. For a while now, we have had a Pisces stellium aspect pattern present, and recently, a Capricorn stellium came into being, and by the end of the month, an Aquarius stellium will arise to replace the Capricorn stellium. I realize this is a lot of astrological technical talk, but what this effectively means is that this full moon kicks off a time of imagining your world into existence. This is also a perfect time to embrace the visionary and the innovative, both keywords for Pisces and Aquarius. On a mundane level, a major theme right now is the reinvention of traditional institutions, rather than complete destruction.
But the problem is that it takes courage to embrace innovation and vision. Not everyone is open-minded enough to take that chance, and while I am speaking about this on a macro level, it is also true on a micro level. Where in your life is it wise to embrace visionary solutions rather than using the same old, same old? What traditional beliefs and approaches do you have to handle situations that arise? And more importantly, how can you reinvent them in line with who you are now, rather than who you were when those approaches and beliefs were created?
At the moment, with Venus and Mars conjunct the sun in Capricorn, fortune favors the brave, especially when it comes to your career and overall direction in life. Change is the theme. Right now, fate smiles upon you because it takes courage to make the necessary changes that can propel you forward. All this requires is that you step outside of your comfort zone.
The issue here is that your changes and changed behavior may ruffle the feathers of those closest to you, so it would be wise to be prepared for this turbulence. I won’t get into the myriad psychological dissections that could take place here, because they are highly subjective and unique. It is simply enough to know that this might initially be a challenging time. But what about risk vs. reward? Do your rewards outweigh the ruffled feathers of others who do not have to suffer the consequences of your choices?
Two classic topics, money and love, may be major focal points at the moment, too, with the prominence of Venus in Capricorn. If you have a lot of Libra activity in your chart, this may be a challenging time, and if you have a lot of Capricorn and Cancer in your chart, then a lot of what you are facing may be hampered by internal tension, which is under your control. If you have a lot of Aries in your chart, then this full moon may kick off the final stage of your long psychological healing, which has been triggered by Chiron moving through your sign.
Even though heaviness is still present in your life, Pisces, you may find that this full moon heralds the beginning of major, positive changes, as Neptune moves out of your sign by the end of the month, and in the natural zodiac, Pisces energy flows well with Capricorn and Cancer energy. The other signs I didn’t mention, you ask? For the most part, this will probably be a quiet time. Taurus may fare well, even though results may come in unexpected ways, while Virgos may fare well, too, even though the internal spiritual, creative, and emotional tension may still be present, like a throbbing headache.
The underlying theme for all of us is stepping into our own authority while recognizing the authority of others. Funny enough, I’m reminded of a catch phrase from the professional wrestler The Rock: “Know your role.” Do you know your role? I do, and reflecting on this has given me a lot of empowerment over the last year. A tangent of this is humility. It is good to have a strong ego, but to avoid being arrogant. Humility can also mean being thankful for what you have and focusing only on simple pleasures. To wit: focusing on ruling your life, not the whole world.
I encourage everyone to take the next step toward mastering their life. Yes, it might ruffle some feathers of those close to you, but you can’t have an omelette without breaking a few eggs, and no one says you should be upset when you break said eggs. Those who truly love you will get over it once they see how your life has improved, and the ones that don’t get over it, well, that should speak for itself, too.
Once more into the breach, dear friends, and until we chat again, may we all receive blessings of good health, prosperity, and success!
Namaste,
