Happy Full Moon!

Happy Full Moon!

Greetings!
Today we have the full moon, with the moon in Leo, and Mercury, Venus, the sun, Mars, and Pluto, all in the opposite sign Aquarius, so guess which way this full moon tilts? Hint, it’s not towards the Leo moon, and that gives us all we need to know to understand the current energies.

Yes, this is a time of embracing Aquarian energy. Aquarius is the sign of groups, society, group activities, doing what is best for as many people as possible, humanitarian causes, nonprofit organizations, innovation, and evolution. This is not the time to focus exclusively on the self, but rather to focus on situations that can result in good results for many people involved. This means sometimes making sacrifices, putting the self secondary to the whole.

Like most things in life, though, the situation is not that black and white. Besides these strong energies, we also have Neptune finally in Aries, with Saturn joining it soon, and Aries energy integrates well with Aquarius energy. Effectively, this tells us this is a time of moving ahead, forging new paths, and looking at the health of the whole of your life. Part of this easy-flowing exchange has to do with putting the finishing touches on your inner healing journey, represented by Chiron moving through Aries. Soon that journey will be done, and energy can be applied in other areas, but for now, it is still a time for psychological healing. The good news is that with this full moon, you may find that modern and innovative solutions are the ones to pursue to accomplish your goals.

Full moons bring enhanced energy, and for those of you who already have high energy levels, this may be too much of a good thing, and could lead to burnout or apathy if you don’t use your energy wisely.

This particular full moon is intense because soon we will have the Aquastelle. The Aquastelle is a term from decades ago, the early 1960s, to be precise, when we had this many planets in Aquarius. When you have three or more planets in a sign, you have an aspect pattern called a stellium present. In short, this means the energy in the air right now and for a lot of this month is extremely Aquarian. I listed most of the traits of Aquarius above, so refer to them, and contemplate what they might look like at their extremes. Hint: you can get a sense of this by looking at society right now. The good news about this time is that all of the positive Aquarius traits will be on display, but the bad news is that you get the negative traits, too. Negative and challenging traits of Aquarius include: Being a rebel without a cause, being a rebel without a clue, exhibiting individuality to the degree it works against you, being so focused on rebellion that you become what you’re rebelling against, and spending too much time in your head and not enough time focused on the physical world. There are more detailed traits, of course, but these are most of them that you will probably see.

In a lot of ways, this full moon is the beginning of the end. By month’s end, the calendar year’s first Mercury retrograde in Pisces will have started, Saturn will have moved into Aries, and the Aquarius stellium will dissipate to be replaced by Aries and Pisces stelliums, with the Pisces stellium dissipating in early March, leaving us strong Aries energy to start the new year with the March equinox. Yes, this year promises to be more aggressive, new, and active than the last few years, and this full moon reminds us that all things have beginnings and endings, and many times, these periods overlap and take a while to play out. This is that month. Overlapping energies predicated on endings that set the stage for new beginnings, which kick into high gear in a month, will be prevalent as we individually and collectively come to terms with where things are, what can be done about them, and how we grow, while at the same time not losing sight of who we are.

I encourage you to embrace the new and focus on the innovative and the visionary, preferring the incoming future to outdated mindsets and practices. This may mean engaging creative problem-solving approaches, which usually takes courage, so if you want something new, you have to do something new to get it. And to do this, you have to trust yourself. I’ve never known an Aquarius who doesn’t trust themselves, as a point of fact, so trusting yourself can be done. Remember that courage is the mastery of fear, not the absence of it. I plan on embracing the new and visionary during this month. Do you?
