Greetings,
Today we have the full moon, with the moon in the fixed water sign of Scorpio and the sun in the fixed earth sign of Taurus. This is also the festival of Wesak, which celebrates the birth and ascension of Buddha. As you can tell from this, this is a time of wisdom. It may not seem like it if you look at the state of the world, but this is the fertile ground for wisdom to bloom. Esoterically speaking, this is a time during which ascended masters gather at Shamballah, so we can join in the gathering through meditation or trance.
This full moon is highlighted by the sun and Uranus conjunction in Taurus, which weighs the scale to that end, rather than the lunar. But the Scorpio moon is not without its weight, either. It is trining the north node of the moon, retrograde, in Pisces, meaning that potential is there for spiritual and personal growth and development. In turn, the North Node is squaring Jupiter in Gemini, which is also quincunxing the moon. Both squares and quincunxes are agitative aspects, meaning they bring friction and challenges into the equation. While the potential for spiritual and emotional development is present in a general, long-term sense, you may have to cut through distractions (Gemini) and tangential interests to further your life goals. In some ways, with Mars and Pluto both figuring prominently, you could say this period is a transformation through the flames of purification.
When you look at things objectively, you see that Mars is the biggest, hidden influence at the moment. Mars is in Leo, a fixed fire sign; Pluto, a higher vibration of Mars energy, is in the fixed air sign Aquarius (remember chemisty: air feeds fire); and there is an Aries (ruled by Mars) stellium consisting of Venus, it’s higher vibrational counterpart Neptune, and Chiron. Traditionally, Venus is considered weak in Aries, so to a certain degree, the same could be said of Neptune. See what I mean? Oh, and the two ruling planets of Scorpio are Mars and Pluto, which I just discussed. Wow.
Generally, when there is this much fire energy present, things can go one of two ways. Either you may not notice anything at all, or things will be over-the-top with fire manifestation and traits. And, if you witness or experience extreme fire manifestations, these can run the gamut from the positive end of the spectrum of fire (Activity, spiritual connection, motion, purification) to the lower end of the spectrum (violence, anger, aggression, jealousy, conflict, confrontations, etc, ad infinitum). As we all know, life is a sliding scale of grey, meaning that we will probably experience a variety of fire traits, rather than just positive ones or challenging ones. Usually, this occurs on a case-by-case basis in daily life.
The sun and Uranus conjunction in Taurus tells us that unexpected events in daily life may be common now, which can cause problems and upheavals on average. As you can see when you connect the dots, you see that unexpected events in daily life might be fueled by or colored by the fire traits, ranging from busy and optimistic to annoyance and conflict. Again, this is not an absolute, but rather must be weighed individually. For example, something positive in your life might happen in one area, but in another, you might be at odds with someone, or even yourself.
Another way this can be viewed is a lesson on the almost permanent state of transience known as life. In other words, if you are too rigid in thought, action, or behavior, then this full moon comes along to shake things up and break you loose of confining structures. The gist is that if you are too crystallized in your thoughts, actions, or behaviors, there is a problem. And by that same token, if you are not crystallized enough, there are problems, but that is a conversation for another time. This is not the full moon to bring structure and crystallization to bear, but rather the time to see what needs to be destroyed to be created again on a higher level. Mars fuels everything here, for well or ill.
What makes this difficult is, of course, the fact that we don’t always know where we are too crystallized in our lives. Sometimes we think we’re fluid, but in reality, we’re not. Or perhaps we don’t even know we’re too rigid, and this full moon brings our attention to this in dynamic ways. Whatever the situation and lesson is, the thing to remember is that life is fluid, and we should not be so egocentric that we think we’re suffering when in reality we’re growing.
Another way to phrase this is that if you are currently embracing the victim mentality, you are probably wrong, and what is really happening has been outlined in this blog post. I’m not saying that no one is a victim, but rather, instead of constantly pointing the finger at “the other,” we should point the finger at ourselves more often. I realize this may be painful for many, but until this is done, life will stagnate and slowly become toxic. Decay will occur faster. For every situation in life that seems challenging right now, ask yourself, “How did I create this?” I’m reminded of a quote from the movie “The Crow.” “Victims. Aren’t we all?”
The positive side of this full moon is that this is a good time to be the instigator. Have you been wanting to make a change? This is the time to do it. Whether we’re discussing breaking bad habits, ending toxic relationships, or even pursuing lost loves, all of the Mars energy available to us can be wrangled and used as motivation and fuel to achieve our goals. Just because there is a lot of energy in the air doesn’t mean things must be bad or challenging. Energy is energy. It is fluid and ours to be manipulated to the best of our abilities to the further accomplishment of our Will.
So, what are you going to do with all of this energy? Are you going to do anything with it? If it’s a challenging time, have you stopped and evaluated things to see where you are at fault, and where you’re not? After all, it takes two to tango. No one is completely innocent. If you journey to Shamballah, perhaps I’ll see you there, at the lake, where the part is!
Blessings,
